Job Description

C-Care (Mauritius) Ltd. is looking for dedicated and experienced Paramedics to join our dynamic Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team based in the vibrant Curepipe region, covering the Trou aux Cerfs area and beyond. This crucial role involves responding to emergency calls, providing immediate pre-hospital medical care, and safe transportation of patients to our medical facilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and efficiently to emergency calls, assessing scenes for safety hazards.
- Provide advanced pre-hospital medical care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients in emergency situations.
- Administer medications, perform advanced airway management, cardiac monitoring, and other life-saving interventions as per protocols.
- Operate and maintain ambulance equipment, ensuring readiness for all calls.
- Safely transport patients to appropriate medical facilities, monitoring their condition en route.
- Accurately document all patient care activities, observations, and treatments in patient records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, medical staff, and other emergency personnel.
- Maintain strict adherence to C-Care policies, procedures, and national EMS protocols.
- Participate in ongoing training, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient transitions and comprehensive care.
Required Skills
- Valid Paramedic certification/license from a recognized authority.
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) of hands-on experience as a Paramedic in an emergency setting.
- Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Excellent clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure and remain calm in high-stress situations.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration abilities.
- Valid Mauritian driving license with an excellent driving record.
- Physical fitness to lift, carry, and maneuver patients and equipment.
- Proficiency in both English and French (Creole is an advantage).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Paramedicine or a related field.
- Additional certifications such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS).
- Previous experience working within the Mauritian healthcare system.
- Familiarity with local geographical areas, including Curepipe and surrounding regions.
- Experience with electronic patient care reporting systems.
