Key Responsibilities
- Accurately package various food products, including prepared meals, baked goods, deli items, and produce, according to specific guidelines and portion control standards.
- Label products correctly with essential information such as nutritional facts, ingredients, allergen warnings, and best-before dates, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Operate and maintain packaging equipment safely and efficiently, performing routine cleaning and minor adjustments as needed.
- Monitor product quality and freshness during the packaging process, reporting any discrepancies or issues to supervisors immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, strictly adhering to all food safety, sanitation protocols, and company hygiene standards (e.g., HACCP/WHMIS guidelines).
- Assist with inventory management, including the receiving, stocking, and rotating of packaging materials and finished goods.
- Collaborate effectively and communicate clearly with kitchen and production staff to ensure smooth workflow and to meet daily output targets consistently.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall efficiency of the food processing and packaging operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in packaging and labeling processes.
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for delicate packaging.
- Reliable, punctual, and possessing a strong work ethic with a positive attitude.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food handling, packaging, or production role within a grocery, restaurant, or manufacturing environment.
