Job Description

The Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Part-Time Grant Funding Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role is essential for sustaining and expanding our impactful programs and services across the community. As our Grant Funding Coordinator, you will be instrumental in identifying, researching, and securing critical funding opportunities that align with MNJCC’s mission and strategic priorities. You will work closely with program managers, senior leadership, and the development team to understand funding needs, articulate program impact, and craft compelling proposals that resonate with foundations, government agencies, and corporate funders. This position requires an individual with a proven track record in grant writing, exceptional research abilities, and a passion for community development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive research to identify prospective grant opportunities from government, foundation, and corporate sources that align with MNJCC’s strategic goals.
  • Draft, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, concept papers, and supporting documentation within strict deadlines.
  • Work collaboratively with program directors and financial staff to gather necessary information, program data, and budget details for grant applications.
  • Manage and maintain a grants calendar, tracking submission deadlines, reporting requirements, and funding cycles.
  • Prepare timely and accurate grant reports, ensuring compliance with all funder requirements.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with funding organizations and program officers.
  • Maintain organized records of all grant-related activities, communications, and documentation using our CRM system.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of grant seeking strategies and processes.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in grant writing and proposal development, preferably within a non-profit setting.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to craft compelling narratives.
  • Strong research skills to identify viable funding opportunities and gather supporting data.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with CRM software (e.g., Raiser's Edge, Salesforce).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Demonstrated understanding of grant compliance and reporting standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with grants specifically from Canadian government agencies and major private foundations.
  • Familiarity with the Jewish community and/or community centre operations.
  • Fluency in additional languages relevant to Toronto's diverse population.
