Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist library patrons (students, faculty, staff) with locating materials, utilizing library equipment (e.g., printers, scanners, computers), and responding to general inquiries.
  • Process and organize library materials, including shelving books and periodicals accurately, assisting with cataloging support, and maintaining precise circulation records.
  • Efficiently check books in and out using the library's system, manage patron accounts, and facilitate interlibrary loan requests.
  • Maintain the neatness, orderliness, and aesthetic appeal of library shelves, reading areas, and common spaces.
  • Provide administrative support to librarians, which may include preparing reports, processing new acquisitions, and handling correspondence.
  • Assist in the planning, preparation, and execution of various library programs, workshops, and special events designed to enhance learning and engagement.
  • Offer basic technical support for library computers, Wi-Fi connectivity, printers, and online databases to ensure seamless patron access to resources.

Required Skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and internet navigation.
