Job Description
AFC Commercial Bank is seeking a dedicated and community-focused Part-Time Loan Officer to join our team in Matabeleland South Province. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about financial inclusion and local economic development to make a tangible impact. As a Part-Time Loan Officer, you will be instrumental in identifying, assessing, and supporting prospective borrowers, primarily within the agricultural and small business sectors. You will work closely with community members, providing guidance on financial literacy and ensuring that our loan products meet their specific needs. This role requires a proactive approach to client outreach, meticulous attention to detail in loan application processing, and a strong commitment to risk management. You will be responsible for building and maintaining a healthy loan portfolio, cultivating strong relationships with clients, and promoting AFC Commercial Bank’s values of integrity and service excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct client outreach and marketing activities to identify potential borrowers within Matabeleland South Province.
- Assist clients in understanding loan products, application procedures, and repayment terms.
- Evaluate loan applications by conducting thorough due diligence, including financial analysis, collateral assessment, and credit history checks.
- Prepare comprehensive loan proposals and present them to the Credit Committee for approval.
- Monitor loan portfolio performance, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure timely loan repayments through proactive client engagement and follow-ups.
- Provide basic financial literacy education and advisory services to clients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and loan documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Adhere strictly to AFC Commercial Bank's policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Diploma or Degree in Banking, Finance, Business Studies, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a lending or credit assessment role, preferably in microfinance or a similar banking sector.
- Proven ability to assess creditworthiness and manage a loan portfolio effectively.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in local languages relevant to Matabeleland South (e.g., Ndebele, Shona) is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Previous experience working with rural or agricultural communities.
- Knowledge of local agricultural practices and market dynamics in Matabeleland South.
