Job Description

Triolet Medical & Surgical Centre invites you to join our growing team as a Part-Time Physiotherapist. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in restoring function, reducing pain, and preventing disability for individuals affected by injury, illness, or surgery. Working autonomously within our supportive clinical environment, you will be responsible for conducting thorough patient assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing a variety of physiotherapy techniques. This includes manual therapy, exercise prescription, electrotherapy, and patient education. We are seeking a professional who not only possesses strong clinical skills but also excellent communication abilities, capable of building rapport with patients and their families, and effectively collaborating with other healthcare professionals within our multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical conditions, including range of motion, muscle strength, balance, and neurological function.
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to patient needs and goals.
- Administer various physiotherapy techniques, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, electrotherapy, and hydrotherapy (if applicable).
- Educate patients and their families on exercises, injury prevention, and lifestyle modifications for long-term health.
- Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately.
- Collaborate effectively with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Adhere to professional ethical standards and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in continuous professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Physiotherapist.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics.
- Proficiency in various physiotherapy techniques and modalities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of French and/or Creole is a significant advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Physiotherapy or a related field.
- Specialization or advanced certifications in areas such as sports physiotherapy, neurological rehabilitation, or musculoskeletal therapy.
- Previous experience working in a private clinic or multidisciplinary medical centre.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Active registration with the Mauritian professional body for Physiotherapists.
