Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Part-Time Site Supervisor to join our operations in Manicaland Province. This crucial role involves overseeing specific site activities, ensuring projects run smoothly, safely, and efficiently in line with Border Timbers’ high standards. As a Part-Time Site Supervisor, you will play a vital role in coordinating on-site tasks, managing a small team of workers, and ensuring compliance with all company policies and safety regulations. You will be instrumental in the day-to-day supervision of activities such as timber harvesting, planting operations, or sawmill processing segments, depending on the specific site requirements. Your responsibilities will include monitoring progress, allocating resources, addressing immediate operational challenges, and maintaining open lines of communication with project managers and site personnel. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily on-site activities to ensure operational efficiency and project timelines are met.
  • Enforce strict adherence to all company safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality standards.
  • Manage and motivate a team of on-site workers, allocating tasks, providing guidance, and monitoring performance.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards, address issues, and ensure compliance.
  • Oversee the proper use, maintenance, and security of site equipment and materials.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, incident reports, and other required documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, staff, and other stakeholders regarding site status and challenges.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling site activities, including resource allocation and logistical support.
  • Resolve minor operational issues and conflicts that may arise on-site promptly and efficiently.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role, preferably in forestry, agriculture, or a related heavy industry.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.

  • A valid Class 4 driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Forestry, Agriculture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of timber harvesting, sawmill operations, or plantation management techniques.
  • Experience with heavy machinery operation (e.g., tractors, forklifts) or supervising such operations.
