Shoprite Mozambique is seeking dedicated Part-Time Store Shelf Stockers to join our vibrant team in Coalane, Quelimane. Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, unpack, and organize incoming merchandise from deliveries, ensuring accuracy and proper handling.
  • Efficiently stock shelves, display cases, and end-caps with new products, ensuring correct placement, neatness, and clear pricing.
  • Perform regular stock rotation (FIFO – First-In, First-Out), moving older products to the front and new products to the back to minimize waste and ensure product freshness.
  • Monitor inventory levels on shelves, identifying and communicating stock shortages or overstocks to management promptly.
  • Check product expiry dates regularly and diligently remove expired, damaged, or recalled items from shelves, adhering to store protocols.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe sales floor, including clearing aisles of cartons and debris, wiping spills, and organizing products according to planograms.
  • Assist customers with locating products and provide basic information when approached, directing them to appropriate staff for further assistance with specific queries.
  • Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other manual lifting equipment safely and responsibly as required (comprehensive training provided).
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety, hygiene, and operational policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment by assisting colleagues as needed and fostering collaborative relationships.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 20kg, bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in stocking, product rotation, and organization.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and commitment to shift schedules.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a cohesive team in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Basic communication skills to interact courteously with colleagues and customers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a retail or supermarket environment, particularly in stocking, merchandising, or inventory roles.
  • Familiarity with basic inventory management principles and stock control.
  • High school diploma or equivalent secondary education certificate.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices applicable to a retail setting.
