Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and dismantle video recording equipment, including cameras, lighting, microphones, and teleprompters.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Monitor video and audio levels during recording sessions to ensure high-quality capture.
- Assist with on-site logistics, including cable management, equipment placement, and power distribution.
- Collaborate with producers, directors, and other team members to understand project requirements and achieve desired visual outcomes.
- Troubleshoot technical issues proactively during shoots to prevent disruptions.
- Ensure all captured footage is properly labelled, stored, and backed up according to company protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and equipment storage area.
- Adapt to various shooting environments, including studio settings, corporate events, and outdoor locations.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in operating professional video cameras (e.g., DSLRs, mirrorless, camcorders).
- Basic understanding of lighting techniques for video production.
- Familiarity with audio recording equipment and sound principles.
- Ability to troubleshoot common technical issues related to video and audio equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable transportation to various job sites within the Toronto area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Film Production, Broadcasting, Media Arts, or a related field.
