Key Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments, verifying quantities against purchase orders and checking for discrepancies or damages.
- Efficiently and safely unload goods from delivery vehicles using appropriate equipment.
- Organize and store inventory in designated locations within the warehouse, ensuring optimal space utilization and easy accessibility.
- Accurately pick and pack customer orders according to specified instructions and deadlines.
- Assist in the loading of outgoing shipments onto delivery vehicles.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in maintaining accurate stock records.
- Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks) safely and responsibly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times, adhering to all company safety protocols.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or inventory discrepancies to management.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 25 kg, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing inventory.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for counting and documentation.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (at least 6 months) in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Familiarity with basic inventory management systems or processes.
- Experience operating manual pallet jacks or similar warehouse equipment.
- A secondary school certificate (Form IV) or equivalent.
- Ability to communicate effectively in Swahili and basic English.
