Career.zycto is excited to be recruiting on behalf of a prominent wellness collective in the heart of Knysna, Western Cape, seeking a dedicated and passionate Part-Time Yoga Instructor. We are looking for someone who not only possesses a strong understanding of various yoga styles but also has the ability to inspire and connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Your role will involve teaching regularly scheduled classes, creating engaging and safe sequences, and providing personalized attention to ensure each student feels supported and challenged appropriately. Our collective offers a variety of classes, from Vinyasa and Hatha to Restorative and Prenatal, providing ample scope for you to bring your unique teaching style and expertise. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and instruct engaging and safe yoga classes for various skill levels and styles (e.g., Vinyasa, Hatha, Restorative).
  • Provide clear, concise, and encouraging verbal cues and demonstrations.
  • Offer appropriate modifications and adjustments to accommodate individual student needs and limitations.
  • Maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Arrive punctually for scheduled classes and studio meetings.
  • Engage with students before and after class, building rapport and a sense of community.
  • Ensure the studio space is clean, organised, and conducive to practice.
  • Adhere to all studio policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated with current yoga trends and continue personal and professional development.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification from a recognised institution.
  • At least 2 years of proven experience teaching group yoga classes.
  • Deep understanding of yoga philosophy, anatomy, and various asanas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create and deliver well-structured and inspiring class sequences.
  • Strong passion for health, wellness, and community engagement.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional certifications in specialized yoga styles (e.g., Prenatal, Kids Yoga, Yin, Advanced Anatomy).
  • Experience with online/virtual class instruction platforms.
  • Proven ability to attract and retain students.
  • Knowledge of other wellness practices (e.g., meditation, Pilates).
  • Active participation in the local Knysna wellness community.
