Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of parts inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and shipping.
  • Develop and implement efficient inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels and minimize obsolescence.
  • Conduct regular, detailed inventory audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Negotiate effectively with suppliers to achieve favorable pricing, terms, and quality standards for all parts.
  • Analyze market trends, sales data, and historical performance to forecast parts demand accurately and proactively.
  • Lead, train, mentor, and evaluate a dedicated team of parts department personnel, fostering professional growth.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards within the parts department.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the parts department, driving continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with service and sales departments to ensure optimal parts availability for repairs and customer orders.
  • Identify and implement innovative process improvements for increased operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee the efficient management of warranty claims and returns processing.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 4 years) as a Parts Manager or in a similar leadership role in parts inventory management.
  • Strong understanding of advanced inventory control systems, supply chain logistics, and warehouse operations.
  • Exceptional negotiation and vendor management skills with a track record of securing favorable agreements.
  • Proficiency in modern inventory management software (e.g., ERP systems, specialized parts management tools).
  • Outstanding leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on coaching and development.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Solid financial acumen with demonstrated experience in budgeting, cost control, and profitability analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Fluency in German (both written and verbal) to facilitate communication with local suppliers and team members.

  • Professional certification in inventory management (e.g., CPIM, CSCP).
  • Familiarity with lean inventory principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
