Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
- Document patient observations, input/output, and other relevant information in patient charts.
- Assist with patient mobility, including ambulation, transfers, and positioning.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Respond promptly and courteously to patient call lights and requests.
- Support nurses and other medical staff with various tasks as directed.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and privacy policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association (AHA).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to show empathy and compassion towards patients.
- Basic computer proficiency for charting and documentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Physical ability to perform required patient care tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program.
- Previous volunteer or caregiving experience in a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
