Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and vigilant Patrol Response Officer to join our dynamic team in Paje, Zanzibar South & Central. This full-time position is crucial to our mission of providing immediate and effective security services. As a Patrol Response Officer, you will be on the front lines, actively patrolling designated areas, responding to security alerts, and ensuring the protection of property and people. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols, identifying and reporting suspicious activities, deterring potential threats, and providing a rapid response to incidents such such as alarms, disturbances, or emergencies. This role requires exceptional observation skills, the ability to act decisively under pressure, and a strong commitment to maintaining a secure environment. You will work closely with other security personnel and local authorities when necessary, embodying the professional and reliable image of Zanzibar Security Group. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of responsibility, excellent communication skills, and the physical fitness required for active patrol duties. You must be able to work independently as well as part of a team, and demonstrate sound judgment in various situations. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular, thorough patrols of assigned properties and areas in Paje, observing and reporting any unusual or suspicious activities.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergency calls, and security incidents, assessing situations and taking appropriate action.
- Monitor surveillance equipment, access points, and premises to prevent unauthorized entry, theft, or vandalism.
- Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation.
- Enforce security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance by all individuals within the protected areas.
- Provide assistance to clients, staff, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner, while maintaining a security presence.
- Liaise effectively with local law enforcement, emergency services, and management during critical incidents.
- Operate and maintain security equipment, including vehicles, communication devices, and alarm systems.
- Deter criminal activity and maintain public order through visible presence and proactive intervention.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in security operations or law enforcement.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency and high-pressure situations.
- Physical fitness to perform patrol duties, including standing, walking, and occasional strenuous activity.
- Basic knowledge of security procedures, emergency response protocols, and relevant laws.
- Proficiency in basic report writing and record-keeping.
- Valid Tanzanian driver's license (motorcycle and/or car).
Preferred Qualifications
- Security certification or training from a recognized institution.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous experience working in a resort or tourist-heavy environment.
- Fluency in Swahili and English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
- Familiarity with modern security technology and surveillance systems.
