Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze payment system performance, transaction flows, and reconciliation processes to identify areas for improvement and potential risks.
  • Investigate and resolve complex payment processing issues, including transaction failures, disputes, and compliance discrepancies, in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with development, product, and operations teams to implement new payment features, system enhancements, and ensure seamless integration.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends related to payment systems, ensuring our platforms remain compliant and competitive.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for payment system processes, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Perform data analysis using SQL and other tools to extract insights, generate reports, and support decision-making.
  • Participate in the testing and validation of new payment solutions and system upgrades.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to internal teams and external partners regarding payment system functionalities and best practices.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience as a Payment Systems Analyst or similar role in a financial technology or banking environment.
  • Strong understanding of various payment methods and networks (e.g., ACH, SWIFT, Credit/Debit Cards, RTP, e-Wallets).
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques, including advanced SQL.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards relevant to payment processing (e.g., PCI DSS, AML, KYC).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience with fraud detection and prevention systems.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automation.
  • Project management experience or familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AAP, CAMS, PSP).
