Job Description

We are seeking a highly responsible, reliable, and experienced Personal Logistics Driver to join our dynamic team in Jwaneng. This critical role involves ensuring the safe, efficient, and punctual transportation of Debswana personnel and occasionally vital supplies within Jwaneng and to designated surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional driving skills, a strong commitment to safety, a meticulous approach to vehicle maintenance, and a professional demeanor at all times. You will be instrumental in supporting our operational efficiency by providing seamless logistical support, ensuring that our team members can focus on their core duties without transportation concerns. This position requires discretion, excellent time management, and the ability to adapt to varying schedules and demands, all while adhering strictly to company policies and road safety regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and punctually transport Debswana personnel, and on occasion, critical supplies and documents, to various destinations within Jwaneng and nearby localities as required.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle, ensuring it is in optimal working condition.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of the vehicle at all times, both interior and exterior.
  • Adhere strictly to all national traffic laws, company driving policies, and safety regulations.
  • Plan and optimize routes to ensure efficient travel and timely arrivals, considering traffic and road conditions.
  • Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, maintenance, and other vehicle-related data.
  • Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or incidents immediately to the appropriate management.
  • Manage time effectively to accommodate varying schedules and unforeseen changes in transportation needs.
  • Handle confidential information and sensitive materials with utmost discretion and professionalism.
  • Assist passengers with loading and unloading luggage or other items as needed, demonstrating excellent customer service.
  • Be prepared to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, based on operational requirements.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class B (or equivalent) driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven professional driving experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of Jwaneng and surrounding road networks.
  • Strong understanding and adherence to road safety regulations and defensive driving principles.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Punctuality and reliability are paramount.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Defensive Driving Certification.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Previous experience as a corporate driver, personal driver, or logistics driver within a large organization.
  • Fluency in Setswana and English.
  • Familiarity with GPS and navigation systems.
  • Mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle repairs.
