Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care services, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, always ensuring client dignity and comfort.
- Assist clients with safe mobility and transfers, utilising appropriate equipment and techniques as outlined in individual care plans.
- Support clients with medication reminders and administer prescribed medications following training and established protocols.
- Undertake light household duties, including tidying, laundry, and meal preparation, ensuring a clean and comfortable living environment.
- Engage clients in social activities, hobbies, and provide companionship to combat loneliness and promote mental well-being.
- Accompany clients to appointments, outings, and social engagements, facilitating their participation in community life.
- Monitor and accurately report any changes in clients' physical or mental health, behaviour, or well-being to the care coordinator.
- Maintain precise and timely records of care provided, observations, and any incidents, adhering to data protection guidelines.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety guidelines, company policies, and care plans to ensure the safety and well-being of clients and yourself.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust.
- Profound empathy, patience, and a genuinely compassionate nature.
- Proven ability to work independently, managing time effectively and prioritising tasks.
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures, particularly in a home care setting.
- Physical stamina and capability to assist with mobility, transfers, and other physical care tasks.
- Right to work in the UK and undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care or an equivalent care qualification.
- Previous professional experience (minimum 6 months) working with vulnerable adults or in a home care environment.
- Valid UK Driving License and access to your own reliable vehicle for client visits.
- Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Knowledge of local community resources and services available in Woking, Surrey.
