Career.zycto is seeking a motivated Pet Care Facility Attendant to join our dynamic team in Ambleside, West Vancouver. Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for dogs and cats, including feeding, watering, and administering medication as directed.
- Supervise dog playgroups, ensuring a safe and harmonious environment for all animals.
- Perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of kennels, play areas, and the entire facility to maintain health and hygiene standards.
- Monitor animal behaviour, health, and well-being, reporting any concerns or changes to management immediately.
- Engage with animals through positive reinforcement, playtime, and walks.
- Assist with client check-ins and check-outs, providing excellent customer service.
- Handle laundry, dishes, and other general facility maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of feeding, medication, and animal behaviour.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Contribute to a positive team environment through clear communication and collaboration.
Required Skills
- Proven passion and genuine love for animals.
- Ability to handle dogs of various breeds, sizes, and temperaments safely and confidently.
- Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, standing for long periods, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic computer proficiency for record-keeping.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6+ months) working in a pet care facility, veterinary clinic, or animal shelter.
- Knowledge of animal behaviour and basic training principles.
- Certification in Pet First Aid and CPR.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
