Your days will be diverse and engaging. You’ll greet customers with a friendly smile, assist them in finding the perfect products for their beloved companions, and offer advice on pet care. This often involves learning about different breeds, dietary needs, and habitat requirements, transforming you into a knowledgeable resource for pet owners. Crucially, you’ll be involved in the direct care of our smaller residents, ensuring their enclosures are clean, they are fed appropriately, and their well-being is always a top priority. You’ll learn best practices for animal handling, observation, and maintaining a healthy environment. Beyond the animals, you’ll contribute to maintaining a clean, organised, and inviting store environment, helping with stock replenishment, merchandising, and processing transactions. Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers with a friendly and enthusiastic demeanor, providing excellent customer service.
- Care for a variety of small animals, fish, and birds, including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring their health.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the shop floor, stockrooms, and animal habitats.
- Assist customers with product inquiries, offering knowledgeable advice on pet food, accessories, and general pet care.
- Process sales transactions accurately using the till system and handle cash/card payments.
- Receive, unpack, and organise stock deliveries, ensuring shelves are well-stocked and presentable.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with reordering products as needed.
- Learn about various pet products, breeds, and animal welfare best practices through provided training.
- Support the overall team effort to create a welcoming and efficient shopping environment.
