Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Petrochemical Plant Operator to join our dynamic team in Bremen. This is a critical full-time role responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of complex petrochemical processing units. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor advanced Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and SCADA interfaces to manage process variables and ensure optimal plant performance.
  • Perform routine field checks, inspections, and preventative maintenance activities on equipment to identify potential issues and ensure operational readiness.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to process alarms, deviations, and emergency situations, implementing established troubleshooting protocols and corrective actions.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all company safety regulations, environmental policies, and quality control procedures (e.g., HAZOP, LOTO).
  • Collect, record, and analyze operational data, making recommendations for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and energy conservation.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering, maintenance, and laboratory teams to resolve operational challenges and support plant reliability initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed operational logs, shift reports, and documentation, ensuring clear communication of plant status.
  • Conduct quality control checks on intermediate and final products to ensure specifications are met.
  • Actively participate in safety meetings, training programs, and emergency response drills to enhance preparedness and operational knowledge.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience as a plant operator in a petrochemical, chemical, or related heavy process industry.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with process control systems (DCS/SCADA).
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities under pressure.
  • Thorough knowledge of industrial safety protocols (e.g., LOTO, confined space entry) and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), process flow diagrams, and operational manuals.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in various plant conditions.
  • Proficiency in both German and English, written and spoken, for clear communication and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational training or a technical degree (e.g., Chemieanlagenfahrer, Industriemeister, Chemical Engineering, Process Technology).
  • Specific experience with petrochemical processes such as distillation, cracking, polymerization, or hydrogenation.
  • Certification in industrial safety, hazardous materials handling, or first aid.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for maintenance and inventory management.
