Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications, including counting, pouring, and labeling according to physician's orders.
  • Manage and organize pharmacy inventory, including stocking shelves, monitoring expiration dates, and placing orders for supplies.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries, handling prescription pick-ups, and processing payments.
  • Maintain accurate patient profiles and medication records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Assist in compounding medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Process insurance claims and resolve basic billing issues.
  • Ensure the pharmacy area is clean, organized, and compliant with all health and safety regulations.
  • Answer phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately, escalating complex issues to the pharmacist.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing prescription refill requests.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Pharmacist Assistant or in a similar healthcare support role.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-first approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications and pharmacy software systems.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OND/HND/B.Sc. in relevant fields or Pharmacy Technician Certification.
  • Familiarity with local pharmacy regulations and best practices.
  • Experience with inventory management software.
  • Prior experience in a retail pharmacy setting in Lagos.
