Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed pharmacists in the accurate and efficient dispensing of prescription medications.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating pharmaceutical products and supplies.
- Process patient prescriptions, ensure correct labeling, packaging, and provide basic medication information under pharmacist supervision.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient inquiries, assisting with over-the-counter selections, and escalating complex issues to the pharmacist.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the pharmacy area.
- Operate pharmacy software for data entry, patient profiling, billing, and inventory management.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and reconcile daily sales.
- Strictly adhere to all local health authority regulations (e.g., DHA) and internal policies and procedures.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, record-keeping, and managing patient appointments.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated with pharmaceutical practices.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 18 months of proven experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or similar role in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-first approach.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and willingness to learn pharmacy-specific software.
