Job Description
Mothei Pharmacy is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Pharmacy Assistant focusing on Dispensing Support. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our pharmacy, directly contributing to patient care under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your primary responsibilities will involve supporting the dispensing process, managing inventory, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and providing exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed pharmacists with the accurate and efficient preparation and dispensing of prescription medications, including counting, pouring, measuring, and packaging.
- Maintain organized patient prescription records and ensure all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including receiving, unpacking, and stocking medications and supplies, as well as monitoring expiration dates.
- Process patient transactions at the point of sale, handle cash and electronic payments, and manage prescription co-pays.
- Provide friendly, respectful, and helpful customer service, addressing patient inquiries, locating products, and referring clinical questions to the pharmacist.
- Answer incoming phone calls professionally, triage calls, and relay messages accurately to the appropriate staff members.
- Ensure the pharmacy area, including dispensing counters and shelves, is clean, tidy, and well-organized according to health and safety standards.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing prescription refill requests.
- Adhere strictly to all pharmacy policies, procedures, and relevant legal/ethical guidelines regarding patient privacy (e.g., POPIA) and medication handling.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills.

- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and point-of-sale systems.

- Fluency in English; knowledge of Setswana is a significant advantage.
