Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists with dispensing prescription medications, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
  • Accurately process prescription orders, including data entry and preparing medication labels.
  • Manage medication inventory, which includes ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating supplies.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries, handling transactions, and resolving concerns.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, managing electronic communications, and filing.
  • Adhere to all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
  • Operate pharmacy software systems and other equipment necessary for daily operations.
  • Assist patients and pharmacists with insurance claim processing and troubleshooting rejections.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment in compliance with health and safety standards.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical aptitude for dosage calculations and inventory management.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset with a compassionate and helpful attitude.
  • Willingness to learn new procedures, systems, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights (up to 20-30 lbs) as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service role (any industry).
  • Familiarity with basic medical terminology (a plus, but not required).
  • Proficiency in a second language (e.g., Spanish) to better serve a diverse patient population.
