Key Responsibilities
- Process prescription orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all necessary information is complete and verified.
- Enter and maintain patient profiles, prescription details, and other relevant data in the pharmacy management system.
- Communicate effectively with patients, prescribers, and insurance providers via phone and secure digital platforms to clarify prescription details, resolve issues, and provide excellent customer service.
- Assist pharmacists in coordinating prescription refills, transfers, and prior authorizations.
- Manage and resolve insurance claim rejections, working to ensure timely patient access to medication.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and adhere to all HIPAA, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Support inventory management tasks, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications virtually where applicable.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to stay current with pharmacy practices and regulations.
Required Skills
- Active and valid Pharmacy Technician license/registration in Ontario.
- Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail, hospital, or virtual pharmacy setting.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in all tasks.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software (e.g., Kroll, PharmaClik, Telus Health) and Microsoft Office Suite.
