Job Description
This role demands a meticulous and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our dedicated patient services team in Downtown Malden. As a critical point of contact for patients, you will perform venipuncture and capillary punctures with the highest degree of accuracy, professionalism, and care. Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures on patients of all ages with precision and care.
- Accurately identify patients, label specimens, and complete necessary documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all infection control and safety protocols.
- Provide clear and compassionate instructions to patients, ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout the collection process.
- Monitor patient reactions during and after specimen collection, taking appropriate action as needed.
- Process and prepare specimens for transportation and testing, ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Adhere strictly to all HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing training and quality assurance programs.
Required Skills
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a clinical phlebotomy setting
