Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead photographer during on-location shoots (primarily real estate) and studio sessions, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Prepare, set up, and dismantle photography equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, and backdrops.
- Manage and organize photography gear, ensuring all equipment is well-maintained and accounted for.
- Provide creative input and support during concept development and execution of various visual projects.
- Perform basic photo culling, file organization, and initial image adjustments/renaming.
- Ensure props, styling elements, and shoot locations are prepared and arranged according to project requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the photography storage area and 'mini-studio' setup.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to photography projects, such as scheduling and image cataloguing.
- Actively learn and apply new photography techniques, software proficiencies, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of photography principles (exposure, composition, lighting).
- Familiarity with digital cameras and lens operation.
- Proficiency in basic photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt.
- Reliable transportation to various shoot locations within Harrismith and surrounding areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- A diploma or certificate in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Previous experience (volunteer, internship, or personal projects) assisting on photoshoots.
- A portfolio demonstrating an interest in photography, even if primarily personal work.
- Knowledge of real estate photography best practices.
- Valid driver's license.
