Job Description
Career.zycto is actively seeking talented and experienced freelance Photographers specializing in events and commercial work to join our growing network of creative professionals. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled individual to work on diverse projects across Bodles, Old Harbour, and potentially wider St. Catherine, delivering exceptional visual content for various clients. As a freelance photographer, you will be an independent contractor, working on a project-by-project basis. This role demands not only technical proficiency but also strong interpersonal skills, as you will often be interacting directly with clients, subjects, and event attendees. You’ll be responsible for understanding client briefs, executing shoots with creativity and precision, and delivering polished, ready-to-use photographs within agreed-upon deadlines. Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their photography needs, vision, and specific project requirements for both events and commercial assignments.
- Plan and prepare for shoots, including scouting locations, coordinating logistics, and ensuring all necessary equipment is available and in working order.
- Execute high-quality photography shoots for a variety of events (e.g., corporate functions, weddings, parties, public gatherings) and commercial purposes (e.g., product photography, brand campaigns, portraits, real estate).
- Utilize advanced photography techniques, lighting, and composition to capture engaging and visually appealing images.
- Perform post-production tasks including culling, editing, retouching, and color correction to deliver polished, professional-grade photographs.
- Ensure timely delivery of final edited images to clients, adhering to established deadlines and quality standards.
- Maintain and organize photographic equipment, ensuring its care and readiness for all assignments.
- Collaborate effectively with clients and other professionals (e.g., event planners, marketing teams) to achieve desired outcomes.
- Manage personal schedule and logistics for multiple projects, demonstrating strong organizational skills and reliability.
- Stay updated with industry trends, techniques, and software to continuously enhance skills and service offerings.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in operating professional-grade DSLR/mirrorless cameras and various lenses.
- Expertise in photographic lighting techniques, both natural and artificial.
- Advanced knowledge of photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop).
- Strong portfolio showcasing diverse event and commercial photography work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated creativity, artistic vision, and attention to detail.
- Reliable personal transportation for travel to various shoot locations.
- Legal eligibility to work as a freelance contractor in Jamaica.
