Job Description
Are you a highly creative and technically proficient photographer with a passion for capturing compelling visuals? Career.zycto is seeking a talented freelance Photographer specializing in both Event and Commercial assignments to join our network in Gregory Park, Portmore, and the wider Saint Catherine Parish. This is an incredible opportunity for a self-motivated individual to leverage their artistic vision and technical expertise across a diverse range of projects, contributing significantly to visual storytelling and brand presence for various clients.
In this role, you will be responsible for documenting vibrant local events, from community gatherings and cultural festivals to private celebrations and corporate functions, ensuring every key moment and emotion is beautifully preserved. Concurrently, you will undertake commercial assignments, which may include product photography, professional headshots, architectural shots, lifestyle imagery, and visual content for marketing campaigns for small to medium-sized businesses. Your keen eye for detail, understanding of lighting, composition, and ability to evoke specific moods will be paramount to your success.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a flexible, project-based environment, possesses their own professional-grade equipment, and is adept at both on-site execution and post-production. You will manage your own schedule, client communications, and deliver high-quality, edited images within agreed-upon deadlines. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, shoot, and deliver high-quality photographic content for a variety of event types, including corporate gatherings, social functions, and public celebrations.
- Execute commercial photography assignments such as product shots, corporate portraits, real estate, and marketing imagery for diverse business clients.
- Conduct professional post-production (editing, retouching, color correction) to ensure images meet high aesthetic and technical standards.
- Effectively communicate with clients to understand their vision, requirements, and deliver final images that exceed expectations.
- Manage and maintain professional photography equipment, ensuring it is in excellent working condition and suitable for various assignments.
- Organize and archive photographic files efficiently, ensuring easy retrieval and secure storage.
- Adhere to project timelines and deliver edited photographs within agreed-upon deadlines.
- Collaborate with Career.zycto's project managers or clients directly to conceptualize and execute visual strategies.
- Stay updated with industry trends, techniques, and equipment to continuously enhance photographic skills and offerings.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a professional photographer with a strong portfolio showcasing both event and commercial work.
- Expertise in photographic composition, lighting techniques (natural and artificial), and camera operation.
- Proficiency with professional photography equipment (DSLR/Mirrorless cameras, lenses, lighting kits, etc.).
- Advanced proficiency in photo editing software, particularly Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
- A keen artistic eye and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with videography and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro).
- Familiarity with drone photography for unique aerial perspectives.
- A degree or certification in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Business acumen and experience managing client contracts and invoicing as a freelancer.
