As a freelance photographer, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering high-quality visual content that meets and exceeds client expectations. We are looking for individuals who possess a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of lighting and composition, and proficiency with professional-grade photography equipment and editing software. Your portfolio should demonstrate versatility across different photographic styles, including corporate events, social gatherings, product photography, real estate, and lifestyle shoots. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, reliable, and possess excellent communication skills to liaise directly with clients and understand their specific needs and visions. This role requires flexibility, as assignments will vary in scope and schedule, often including evenings or weekends. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, set up, and execute professional photography shoots for a variety of events (e.g., weddings, corporate functions, parties) and commercial projects (e.g., product photography, real estate, portraits, brand content).
- Utilize professional-grade photography equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, and accessories, to capture high-quality images.
- Perform post-production tasks, including culling, editing, retouching, and color grading images to meet client specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their vision, objectives, and specific requirements for each project.
- Manage project timelines, ensuring timely delivery of edited images within agreed-upon deadlines.
- Maintain and organize photographic equipment, ensuring it is in excellent working condition.
- Develop and maintain a strong portfolio showcasing diverse photographic skills and styles.
- Provide exceptional customer service and professionalism throughout the entire client interaction process.
- Adhere to all legal and ethical photography practices, including obtaining necessary permissions and releases.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Events and/or Commercial Photographer.
- Expert proficiency with professional DSLR/Mirrorless cameras and various lenses.
- Advanced knowledge of photography principles, including lighting, composition, and exposure.
- Strong command of Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and other relevant photo editing software.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients.
- A strong, diverse portfolio demonstrating a range of photographic styles and successful projects.
- Reliable transportation to travel to various shoot locations within Port Antonio and surrounding areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal education or certification in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Experience with videography and video editing (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
- Familiarity with drone photography for aerial shots.
- Prior experience working as a freelance professional with a established client base.
- Knowledge of current photography trends and marketing best practices for photographers.
