Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial consultations with clients to understand their photographic needs and project objectives for events and commercial shoots.
- Develop creative concepts and shot lists that align with client vision and brand guidelines.
- Execute on-location photography sessions for various events (e.g., weddings, corporate gatherings, festivals) and commercial projects (e.g., product, lifestyle, real estate, portraiture).
- Utilize professional-grade camera equipment, lighting, and accessories to capture high-quality images.
- Perform post-production tasks including culling, color correction, retouching, and image optimization using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop).
- Ensure timely delivery of final edited images in specified formats and resolutions.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage personal equipment maintenance and ensure readiness for all assignments.
- Adhere to project timelines and budget constraints.
- Showcase a diverse portfolio that demonstrates expertise in both event and commercial photography.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in event photography, capturing candid moments and formal setups.
- Demonstrable experience in commercial photography, including product, portrait, or architectural shoots.
- Expert proficiency with professional DSLR/mirrorless cameras, lenses, and external lighting equipment.
- Advanced skills in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for image editing and retouching.
- Strong understanding of composition, lighting, and color theory.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to various locations within Salt Spring, St. James, and surrounding areas.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
