Job Description
Career.zycto is seeking a talented and experienced Freelance Photographer specializing in events and commercial work to join our dynamic network of creative professionals in Thompson Town, Clarendon. This is a unique opportunity for an independent photographer to collaborate with various clients on diverse and exciting projects across Jamaica. You will be responsible for capturing high-quality, compelling images that tell stories, showcase products, and preserve memorable moments for events ranging from corporate functions and grand openings to weddings and local festivals, as well as commercial shoots for advertising and branding purposes.
We are looking for someone with an exceptional eye for detail, a strong understanding of lighting and composition, and the technical proficiency to deliver outstanding results under various conditions. Your portfolio should demonstrate versatility across both event and commercial photography, highlighting your ability to adapt your style to suit different client briefs and environments. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, set up, and execute photography shoots for various events (e.g., corporate, social, cultural) and commercial projects (e.g., product, lifestyle, real estate).
- Collaborate closely with clients to understand their vision, objectives, and specific photography requirements for each assignment.
- Utilize professional-grade camera equipment, lighting, and accessories to capture high-quality, sharp, and well-composed images.
- Perform post-production tasks including culling, colour correction, retouching, and final editing using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop).
- Manage and organize photographic assets, ensuring timely delivery of final edited images according to client deadlines.
- Maintain and update a robust portfolio showcasing a range of event and commercial photography work.
- Adhere to professional conduct, punctuality, and communication standards during all client interactions and project executions.
- Provide expert advice on photography concepts, locations, and styling to enhance project outcomes.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with professional DSLR/Mirrorless cameras and lenses.
- Advanced knowledge of lighting techniques (natural, studio, flash) and composition principles.
- Expertise in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for photo editing and retouching.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal training or degree in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Experience with videography and video editing is a plus.
