Job Description

Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and passionate Freelance Photographer specializing in both event and commercial photography to join our network of creative professionals in Seville, St. Ann’s Bay. This is an incredible opportunity for an individual with an exceptional eye for detail, a strong artistic sensibility, and the technical prowess to deliver stunning visual content that tells compelling stories. As a freelance photographer, you will be instrumental in capturing the essence of various events, from vibrant community gatherings and corporate functions to intimate celebrations, ensuring every significant moment is preserved with clarity and emotion.

Beyond events, you will also contribute to diverse commercial projects, ranging from product photography and architectural shots to lifestyle imagery for local businesses and tourism initiatives. Your work will play a crucial role in enhancing brand visibility, engaging target audiences, and promoting the unique charm of St. Ann’s Bay. We are looking for a self-starter who can manage projects from conception to completion, including planning shoots, setting up equipment, directing subjects, and performing professional post-production editing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, set up, and execute photography shoots for a variety of events (e.g., corporate, social, cultural) and commercial projects (e.g., product, lifestyle, architectural).
  • Utilize professional camera equipment, lighting, and accessories to capture high-quality images in diverse environments.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to understand their vision, objectives, and specific photography requirements for each project.
  • Direct subjects and manage scenes effectively to achieve desired compositions and expressions.
  • Perform comprehensive post-production editing, including color correction, retouching, and cropping, using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop).
  • Manage and organize digital assets efficiently, ensuring timely delivery of final edited images to clients.
  • Maintain and care for all photography equipment, ensuring it is in excellent working condition.
  • Stay updated with the latest photography trends, techniques, and equipment to continuously enhance skill set and offerings.
  • Develop and maintain a strong professional portfolio showcasing diverse work.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in professional-grade DSLR/Mirrorless cameras and lenses.
  • Expertise in photographic composition, lighting techniques (natural and artificial), and exposure.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for post-production editing.
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling and ability to translate concepts into compelling images.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and subject direction.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • An established portfolio demonstrating experience in both event and commercial photography.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Photography, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • Experience with videography and video editing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of local culture and event landscapes in St. Ann's Bay, Jamaica.
  • Ability to provide own professional-grade photography and lighting equipment.
