Job Description
We are seeking a highly creative and experienced Photographer specializing in both studio and event photography to join our dynamic team in Stanley, Rose Hill. As a key visual storyteller, you will be responsible for capturing high-quality images that meet diverse client needs, from polished corporate headshots and product photography in our state-of-the-art studio to energetic candid shots and formal portraits at various events. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of lighting and composition, and proficiency with a range of professional photography equipment and editing software. You will collaborate closely with clients and our creative team to understand project requirements, develop concepts, and deliver stunning visuals that exceed expectations. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, set up, and execute photo shoots in a studio setting, including lighting, backdrops, and props for portraits, product photography, and marketing materials.
- Photograph a variety of events, such as conferences, corporate functions, weddings, and private gatherings, capturing key moments and atmosphere.
- Consult with clients to understand their vision, objectives, and specific photography needs for both studio and event assignments.
- Operate and maintain professional camera equipment, lenses, lighting, and other accessories.
- Perform extensive post-production work, including editing, retouching, color correction, and cropping using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom).
- Manage and organize digital assets, ensuring efficient workflow for file storage, backup, and delivery.
- Collaborate with marketing and design teams to ensure visual content aligns with brand guidelines and project goals.
- Stay updated with emerging photography trends, techniques, and equipment to continuously enhance skills and service offerings.
- Adhere to project timelines and deliver high-quality images within agreed-upon deadlines.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in both studio and event photography.
- Expertise in operating professional DSLR/mirrorless cameras, lenses, and lighting equipment.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom for photo editing and retouching.
- Strong understanding of photographic principles, including composition, exposure, and color theory.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and subjects.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
- A compelling portfolio showcasing diverse photographic work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Experience with video production and editing.
- Knowledge of other graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, InDesign).
- Familiarity with local Mauritian culture and event types.
- Ability to speak French and/or Creole in addition to English.
