Focus Photography Jamaica is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Entry-Level Photography Studio Helper to join our growing team. This is an incredible opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience and learn the intricacies of professional photography operations from the ground up. As a Studio Helper, you will be an integral part of our daily operations, providing essential support to our lead photographers and ensuring the smooth running of our studio and on-location shoots. You’ll assist with equipment setup, maintain studio organization, help with basic administrative tasks, and contribute to creating a positive client experience. We are looking for a proactive individual with a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a genuine desire to learn and grow within the photography industry. This role is perfect for someone who is reliable, a quick learner, and has a deep interest in the technical and artistic aspects of photography. You will have the chance to observe, assist, and eventually contribute to various projects, developing a foundational understanding of studio management, lighting techniques, and client interaction. Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead photographers with setting up and dismantling lighting, backdrops, and other photography equipment for studio and on-location shoots.
- Organize and maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the photography studio and equipment inventory.
- Prepare props and ensure their availability and organization for scheduled photo sessions.
- Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, scheduling assistance, and greeting clients.
- Aid in basic post-production tasks such as photo culling, file organization, and initial image sorting.
- Run errands as needed to support studio operations, including picking up supplies or delivering materials.
- Ensure all equipment is properly stored and maintained after use.
- Shadow photographers to learn best practices in composition, lighting, and client interaction.
- Contribute to a positive and efficient workflow within the studio.
Required Skills
- Strong enthusiasm and genuine interest in photography and the creative arts.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
- Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer literacy (e.g., email, file management).
- Physical ability to lift and carry moderate weight photography equipment (up to 30 lbs).

Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Some personal experience with a camera or basic photography principles.
- Familiarity with basic photo editing software (e.g., Lightroom, Photoshop) is a plus but not required.
- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (beneficial for on-location assignments).
