Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations, including patient history, systems review, and tests and measures, to diagnose functional limitations and develop prognosis.
  • Formulate and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans tailored to patient needs and goals, utilizing a variety of therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, modalities, and functional training.
  • Educate patients and their families on their conditions, treatment plans, home exercise programs, and preventative measures to promote self-management and long-term wellness.
  • Monitor patient progress, modify treatment plans as necessary, and document all aspects of patient care accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to legal and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Supervise physical therapy assistants (PTAs) and therapy aides as per state regulations and facility policies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of physical therapy practices, research, and regulations through continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and departmental efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures related to patient care and documentation.

Required Skills

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program
  • Current and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the State of Indiana
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic reasoning skills
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board certification in a specialty area (e.g., Orthopedics, Neurology, Geriatrics)
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems, particularly Cerner or Epic
  • Previous experience in an outpatient or acute care setting
  • CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Bilingual proficiency is a plus (e.g., Spanish)
