As a Physiotherapist Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of high-quality therapeutic services. Your primary responsibility will be to assist our licensed physiotherapists in implementing tailored treatment plans, ensuring a seamless and effective rehabilitation journey for every patient. This involves hands-on support during exercises, preparing and maintaining therapeutic equipment, and monitoring patient responses to treatment. Beyond direct patient interaction, your organizational skills will be vital in managing clinic operations. Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physiotherapists with patient treatment sessions, including demonstrating and guiding exercises, applying therapeutic modalities, and ensuring patient safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms and equipment before and after sessions, ensuring all areas are clean, sanitized, and ready for use.
- Monitor patient progress and tolerance during therapy, reporting any changes or concerns directly to the supervising physiotherapist.
- Provide hands-on support to patients during transfers, mobility training, and gait re-education, adhering to proper body mechanics.
- Manage patient scheduling, appointments, and maintain comprehensive, accurate patient records and therapy logs.
- Educate patients and their families on prescribed home exercise programs and activity modifications as directed by the physiotherapist.
- Ensure strict adherence to all clinic hygiene, infection control, and safety protocols.
- Assist with inventory management of therapeutic supplies and equipment, notifying management of reorder needs.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive, and compassionate environment for all patients and staff.
- Perform general administrative duties to support clinic operations as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Physiotherapist Assistant or in a similar healthcare support role (minimum 12 months).
- Strong understanding of basic anatomy, physiology, and common rehabilitation principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse patient populations and team members.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-centered approach to care.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and dexterity required for assisting patients with mobility and equipment setup.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office for record keeping and scheduling).
- Fluency in English is essential for clear communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Physiotherapy Assisting, Rehabilitation Sciences, or a related healthcare field.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or First Aid and CPR.
- Prior experience working in a clinical rehabilitation setting in the UAE.
- Knowledge of various therapeutic modalities and their application.
- Ability to communicate in Arabic or other commonly spoken languages in Dubai (e.g., Hindi, Tagalog).
