Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examination, and functional testing, to accurately diagnose conditions and establish treatment goals.
- Develop, implement, and continually evaluate individualized physiotherapy treatment plans based on evidence-based practice and patient-specific needs.
- Utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, electrotherapy, hydrotherapy, and specialized rehabilitation equipment.
- Educate patients and their families on their conditions, treatment plans, injury prevention, and self-management strategies.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records, progress notes, and reports in compliance with professional and organizational standards.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure integrated and holistic patient care.
- Participate in continuous professional development activities and contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide advice and guidance on adapted physical activity and lifestyle modifications for long-term wellness.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution.
- Valid registration/licensure to practice as a Physiotherapist in Mauritius.
- Minimum of 3 years of post-qualification clinical experience, preferably in rehabilitation and wellness settings.
- Demonstrated ability to assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiorespiratory conditions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and empathy skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration.
- Proficiency in English and French (both written and spoken).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialization or advanced certification in a specific area of physiotherapy (e.g., sports, women's health, geriatrics, manual therapy).
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
