Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical conditions, including musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory, and other complex needs.
- Develop and implement individualized physiotherapy treatment plans, setting clear and achievable goals in collaboration with patients.
- Utilize a wide array of evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including manual therapy, exercise prescription, electrotherapy, and hydrotherapy.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Provide expert advice and education to patients and their families on self-management strategies, injury prevention, and rehabilitation.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate, concise, and timely patient records in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
- Participate in clinical governance activities, including audits, research, and service development to enhance patient care.
- Adhere to the professional standards and ethical guidelines set by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Engage in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification clinical experience in a relevant setting.
- Eligibility for or current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK.
- Demonstrable experience across various physiotherapy specialisms (e.g., MSK, neuro, cardio-respiratory).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
- Strong assessment, diagnostic, and clinical reasoning skills.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English to a level required for effective clinical practice (e.g., IELTS/OET requirements).
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a UK healthcare setting or with UK-based patient populations.
- Postgraduate qualifications or specialized training in a particular area of physiotherapy.
- Experience in clinical supervision or mentoring of junior staff/students.
- Knowledge of NHS policies, procedures, and healthcare structures.
