Job Description
This role is specifically designed to support foreign nationals seeking to establish themselves successfully in Canada, focusing on comprehensive planning, advisory, and resource navigation. As a Planner – For Foreigners at Career.zycto, you will be a pivotal point of contact, guiding individuals through various stages of their relocation journey, from pre-arrival planning to post-settlement integration. You will assess client needs, develop personalized action plans, and connect them with essential services related to housing, employment, education, healthcare, and community resources. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial consultations to comprehensively assess the specific needs, aspirations, and goals of foreign national clients.
- Develop and meticulously implement personalized planning strategies tailored for immigration, settlement, and successful integration.
- Provide accurate, up-to-date, and accessible information on various Canadian immigration pathways, provincial nomination programs, and essential settlement services.
- Assist clients with identifying suitable housing options, navigating the complex rental markets, and understanding tenancy agreements and rights.
- Guide clients through the Canadian job search process, including resume tailoring, interview preparation, and connecting with local employment resources and networks.
- Facilitate seamless access to essential services such as healthcare registration, education systems, banking, and relevant social programs.
- Act as a trusted cultural guide, offering valuable insights into Canadian customs, social norms, and community engagement opportunities.
- Maintain meticulous client records, detailed progress reports, and ensure stringent compliance with all relevant regulations and privacy standards.
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external community partners to ensure seamless and holistic service delivery.
- Organize and expertly conduct informational workshops or webinars for groups of newcomers on key settlement topics.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a planning, advisory, or client-facing role, preferably within immigration, relocation, or social services.
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple cases concurrently with strong organizational and exemplary time management skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the innate ability to build strong rapport and trust with diverse clients.
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and profound empathy towards individuals from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with client relationship management (CRM) software.
- In-depth understanding of Canadian social services, the employment landscape, and available settlement resources.
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken), with clear and articulate communication.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
- Prior experience living or working abroad, providing first-hand insight into the challenges and triumphs of international relocation.
- Additional language proficiency (e.g., Mandarin, Punjabi, Tagalog, Korean) highly relevant to the diverse Richmond, BC demographic.
- Certified Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) or Regulated International Student Immigration Advisor (RISIA) designation, or actively pursuing one.
- Comprehensive knowledge of British Columbia's specific settlement programs and community organizations.
