Career.zycto is searching for a highly skilled and dedicated Plasterer to join our dynamic team, focusing on projects within Rufforth, York, and the surrounding areas. We are seeking an individual with a keen eye for detail, a commitment to quality, and a proactive approach to their craft. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for plastering, including cleaning, dampening, and applying bonding agents.
- Measure, cut, and fix plasterboard sheets for dry lining applications.
- Apply scratch coats, floating coats, and finishing coats of plaster to a high standard.
- Repair and restore existing plasterwork, matching textures and finishes where required.
- Operate and maintain a variety of plastering tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Ensure all work adheres to architectural drawings, specifications, and building codes.
- Work collaboratively with other tradespeople, site managers, and clients to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and company policies on site.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, including proper disposal of waste materials.
- Provide accurate estimates of materials and time required for tasks.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in both traditional wet plastering and modern dry lining techniques.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to achieve a smooth, high-quality finish.
- Strong understanding of different plastering materials and their applications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English for effective communication.
- Valid UK driving license and access to reliable transport.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plastering or an equivalent qualification.
- CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
- Experience working on varied project types (residential, commercial, heritage).
- First Aid certification.
- Basic knowledge of other construction trades.
