Career.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Plasterer specializing in wall finishing to join our growing team in Madaraka, Nairobi. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for plastering by cleaning, dampening, and applying key coats as required.
- Mix and apply various types of plaster, including gypsum, cement, and decorative renders, ensuring correct consistency and application thickness.
- Apply plaster coats to walls and ceilings, achieving perfectly smooth and level surfaces ready for final finishes.
- Skim coat walls and ceilings to a high standard, ensuring flawless, blemish-free results.
- Repair existing plasterwork, addressing cracks, holes, and other imperfections with precision.
- Operate and maintain plastering tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations on site, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Estimate material requirements and communicate needs to site management.
- Collaborate effectively with other tradespeople and project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring proper waste disposal.
Required Skills
- Proven expertise in various plastering techniques, including skimming, rendering, and floating.
- In-depth knowledge of different plastering materials and their appropriate applications.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Strong physical stamina and dexterity for manual labor and working in various conditions.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools common to plastering.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of site safety procedures and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal qualification or certification in plastering or a related construction trade.
- Experience with specialized decorative plaster finishes or textures.
