Key Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled plasterers with surface preparation, including cleaning, sanding, and applying primers.
  • Help mix and prepare plaster, stucco, and other finishing materials according to specifications.
  • Transport materials and tools to and from work areas, ensuring an organized and safe workspace.
  • Learn to set up and dismantle scaffolding and work platforms safely.
  • Support the application of plaster and stucco by holding boards, retrieving tools, and cleaning up excess material.
  • Observe and learn various plastering techniques, including skimming, rendering, and decorative finishes.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and procedures on job sites.
  • Maintain and clean tools and equipment, ensuring their longevity and readiness for use.
  • Perform general labour duties as required to support the plastering team.
  • Show initiative in learning new skills and asking questions to deepen understanding of the trade.

Required Skills

  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs)
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced tradespersons
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety (or willingness to learn immediately)
  • Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a construction labourer role or similar hands-on environment
  • Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to various job sites
