Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Platform Trust and Safety Analyst to join our remote team, based in Manchester, England. In an increasingly digital world, maintaining a safe and trustworthy online environment is paramount. This critical role involves safeguarding user experiences and upholding community guidelines across various digital platforms we support. As a Platform Trust and Safety Analyst, you will be on the front lines, acting as a crucial guardian of digital integrity. You will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing user-generated content, investigating complex policy violations, and taking decisive action to mitigate risks, ensuring our partners’ platforms remain secure and welcoming for all users. This is not just a reactive role; you will also contribute proactively to policy refinement and system enhancements, working to anticipate and prevent emerging threats. We are looking for someone with a strong sense of ethical judgment, exceptional attention to detail, and a deep commitment to fostering positive online interactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze user-generated content for violations of platform policies, standards, and community guidelines.
  • Investigate complex cases of abuse, fraud, spam, harassment, and other prohibited activities using various internal tools and data sources.
  • Enforce platform policies by taking appropriate action, including content removal, account suspension, and issuing warnings, ensuring fairness and consistency.
  • Stay updated on evolving online safety trends, policy changes, and relevant regulatory requirements to inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate with product, legal, and engineering teams to identify system vulnerabilities, improve detection mechanisms, and propose solutions for enhanced platform safety.
  • Contribute to the refinement and development of content moderation guidelines, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
  • Handle user inquiries and appeals related to trust and safety decisions with empathy and clarity.
  • Document investigation findings and actions taken accurately and thoroughly for reporting and auditing purposes.
  • Participate in on-call rotations or respond to urgent issues as needed to ensure continuous platform safety and incident resolution.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (3+ years) in Trust & Safety, content moderation, risk operations, or a similar operational role within a digital platform environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an aptitude for detail-oriented work and critical thinking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate complex issues clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment, managing workload and priorities without direct supervision.
  • Proficiency in using various investigation tools, data dashboards, and internal platforms to gather evidence and make informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to make consistent, objective decisions under pressure, often involving sensitive or ambiguous content.
  • Understanding of online policy enforcement principles, community guidelines, and ethical considerations in content moderation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Criminology, Law, Communications, Data Science, Sociology).
  • Experience with SQL, data analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker), or scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data-driven insights.
  • Familiarity with relevant online safety regulations and legislation (e.g., UK Online Safety Bill, EU Digital Services Act, GDPR).
  • Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced operational environment, consistently meeting performance targets.
  • Multilingual abilities are a significant plus, particularly for a global platform context (e.g., German, French, Spanish).

Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness package, including private medical insurance.
  • Generous paid time off (holiday allowance) and flexible working hours to support work-life balance.
  • Dedicated budget for professional development, training courses, and certifications.
  • Remote-first culture with opportunities for optional team meetups and social events.
  • Ergonomic home office setup allowance to ensure a comfortable and productive workspace.
  • Contribution to a robust company pension scheme.
  • Access to mental health and well-being support programs and resources.
