Career.zycto is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Plumber Construction Site Worker to join our expanding team for projects around the Uhuru Park area in Nairobi. This is a pivotal role for an individual who takes pride in their craft, possesses a strong understanding of plumbing systems, and thrives in a dynamic construction environment. As a Plumber Construction Site Worker, you will be instrumental in installing, maintaining, and repairing water supply lines, drainage systems, and other plumbing fixtures in new and ongoing construction projects. Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with relevant codes and safety standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine the layout of plumbing systems.
- Cut, thread, and bend pipes to specifications, using hand and power tools.
- Install and connect water heaters, sinks, toilets, showers, and other plumbing appliances.
- Perform diagnostic tests to identify and resolve plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, and malfunctions.
- Ensure all installations are watertight, insulated, and tested for proper functionality.
- Collaborate with other construction trades and project managers to ensure timely completion of plumbing work.
- Adhere strictly to all site safety regulations, protocols, and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Provide accurate estimates of materials and labor required for plumbing tasks.
- Inspect plumbing systems for compliance with building codes and specifications.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a plumber on construction sites.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and regulations (e.g., Kenyan Building Code).
- Proficiency in using plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, soldering torches, drain snakes, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to safety practices and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification or diploma in Plumbing or a related field.
