Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures in residential and commercial settings.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, pipe damage, and system malfunctions.
- Perform routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify and prevent potential problems.
- Install and repair water heaters, boilers, pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing components.
- Fit and service domestic appliances such as washing machines, dishwashers, and water softeners.
- Interpret blueprints and building codes to ensure compliant and efficient installations.
- Provide accurate estimates for repairs and installations, and explain work clearly to clients.
- Respond to emergency plumbing calls in a timely and professional manner.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organised work vehicle and tools.
- Document work performed, materials used, and hours worked accurately.
Required Skills
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent recognised qualification)
- Proven experience as a qualified Plumber (minimum 3 years)
- Valid UK Driving Licence
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and materials
- Proficiency in pipe fitting, soldering, and brazing techniques
- Understanding of relevant building regulations and safety standards
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- Gas Safe registration
- Experience with renewable energy plumbing systems (e.g., solar thermal, heat pumps)
- First Aid certification
- City & Guilds qualifications in related fields
- Familiarity with smart home plumbing technologies
