CGE (Compagnie Générale d’Entreprise) is looking for an experienced Plumber to join our dynamic team in Vacoas, Vacoas-Phoenix. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipework, fittings, fixtures, and drainage systems, in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout and installation procedures for plumbing and drainage systems.
  • Inspect and test plumbing systems for leaks, blockages, and other issues, using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance on existing plumbing infrastructure to ensure optimal functionality and prevent breakdowns.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex plumbing problems, offering effective and lasting solutions.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
  • Select and use appropriate tools and materials for each job, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Document work performed, including materials used, time spent, and any issues encountered.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople and project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Provide advice and guidance to clients or occupants on plumbing best practices and maintenance.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Plumber, with a strong focus on pipework installation and maintenance.
  • Thorough knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of plumbing tools and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations pertinent to plumbing.
  • Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate or Diploma in Plumbing from a recognized vocational institution.
  • Valid Plumber's license or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with various piping materials (e.g., copper, PVC, PEX, galvanized steel).
  • Familiarity with local Mauritian building codes and plumbing standards.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
