Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate diagnosis and troubleshooting of plumbing systems to identify faults and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Execute a wide range of plumbing repairs, including leaks, burst pipes, blockages, faulty components, and appliance malfunctions.
- Install, maintain, and repair domestic and commercial plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, heating, and sanitation.
- Fit new plumbing fixtures, appliances (e.g., boilers, water heaters, sinks, toilets), and pipework efficiently and to industry standards.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on plumbing systems to extend their lifespan and prevent future issues.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service, explaining work required, estimated costs, and solutions clearly and courteously.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked.
- Manage and organise company vehicle stock, ensuring necessary tools and parts are available for daily tasks.
- Participate in an on-call rota for emergency repairs as required.
Required Skills
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrable experience as a qualified Plumber in repairs and installations.
- Strong knowledge of relevant building regulations and safety standards (e.g., Gas Safe Regulations if applicable, Water Regulations).
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in all aspects of plumbing work, including pipefitting, soldering, welding, and jointing.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK driving license with a clean record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Gas Safe registration (if boiler work is to be undertaken).
- Experience with renewable energy plumbing systems (e.g., solar thermal, air source heat pumps).
- Advanced qualifications or certifications in specific plumbing areas.
- First Aid certification.
