Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fittings, and fixtures involved in drainage, water distribution, and sewage systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues, including leaks, clogs, and malfunctions, efficiently and effectively.
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on plumbing systems to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.
- Interpret blueprints and building specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems and plan installations.
- Adhere to all relevant safety regulations, building codes, and company policies during all work activities.
- Manage and prioritize multiple work orders, ensuring timely completion and minimal disruption.
- Provide accurate estimates for repair or replacement jobs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff and external contractors as required.
- Respond promptly to emergency plumbing calls, including after-hours service when necessary.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Plumber, including residential, commercial, or industrial plumbing.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and tools.
- Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various sites within Nakuru County.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Diploma or Certificate in Plumbing or a related field.
- Registration with a relevant trade body or certification in plumbing.
- Experience with advanced plumbing techniques and technologies (e.g., water heater installation, trenchless repair).
- Familiarity with Kenyan building codes and plumbing standards.
- First Aid and Safety certification.
