Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, including pipes, drains, fixtures, and appliances.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Install and replace plumbing components such as water heaters, pumps, valves, and water filtration systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and efficiency of all plumbing infrastructure.
- Respond promptly to emergency plumbing calls, including leaks, burst pipes, and clogged drains.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, building codes, and company policies during all plumbing operations.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and time spent.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff and contractors to ensure coordinated facility operations.
- Provide recommendations for system upgrades or improvements to enhance plumbing efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper organization of work areas and tools.
- Educate building occupants on proper plumbing usage and simple preventative measures when necessary.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a plumber or plumbing maintenance staff.
- Solid knowledge of water distribution and wastewater disposal systems.
- In-depth understanding of plumbing codes and safety standards.
- Proficiency in using various plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, drain snakes, pipe cutters, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving abilities and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent physical condition and stamina, capable of lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade test certificate or relevant vocational training in plumbing.
